For a married couple applying for DTV (non-retirement), do we each need to show 500k baht or can we share 500k in a joint account? 🙏🏼

Answer summary
When applying for the DTV (non-retirement) visa as a married couple, it is usually required that each applicant shows 500,000 baht. While some consular offices may accept a joint account totaling 500,000 baht as sufficient for both, this is not universally accepted. The general consensus is that joint accounts are typically divided evenly, thus requiring a total of 1 million baht. It's advisable to check with the specific Embassy or Consulate handling your application for their particular requirements.

It depends on the Embassy/Consulate processing your application. Typically, joint accounts are viewed as being split evenly so you would require 1M THB in the account for two people.
Some consular offices may allow the holder of the 500k to sponsor their spouse with the same 500k that they used for their own application but some will once again require 500k per person over the age of 16.
