TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for the DTV visa is that each applicant must have 500,000 baht in their account, which means that for a family of five (two adults and three children), you would need a total of 2.5 million baht. However, some comments suggest checking with your specific consulate as they may allow a joint account to cover multiple applicants. Additionally, there are considerations for school-age children possibly applying for an ED visa instead.

Then you can apply as his/her depends spouse and kid,

If you are going to apply altogether you are going need more than 500k

How old are your kids? If they’re school age they should probably go to school and get an ED visa? And you can get a guardian visa.

When I applied in HCMC this summer, it was 500,000 baht per person, minimum of 2.5M Baht total. I showed a separate account for the adult applying for the soft power DTV and then a joint account for the other spouse and dependent children.

I applied for my DTV last week, after sending all the extra documents I am now waiting hopefully for the final result , how ever I am now in thailand on a tourist visa,

If I get approved what does that look like? Do I have to activate on an email? And how do you get to activate if this is what happens

Anonymous participant 552 I think you apply and consent to saying you are not in the country when you apply…. It’s probably going to be denied

Anonymous participant 552 you better hope they don’t ask for a copy of all pages of your passport. Once they find you have not stayed in the country where applying until you get the visa they will deny it.

At the LA consulate, they accepted the same bank statement for me and my child. So I definitely say just check with your consulate.
