TLDR : Answer Summary
An American in Florida inquired about the need to travel to the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington D.C. to apply for a Thai e-visa, wondering if they could complete the process online. Responses indicated that the e-visa application is handled online, and the visa can be received via email as a PDF attachment rather than requiring a visit to the embassy.
When status is changed to “Finnish” you’ll have an e-mail with your visa as a pdf as Stuart states. (You can also open your e-visa in the e-visa portal).
The evisa system routes your application to the embassy or consulate that serves the state you live in. You do not go to the actual embassy or consulate. It is all done online. Your visa is sent to you as a PDF attachment. You print that to show immigration on arrival.
