What are the options for obtaining a Thai Teacher's license as a foreign teacher?

Thai Teacher's license. Another great idea to make the paperwork for foreign teachers endless and complicated. Has anyone gone to BKK recently to get this sorted and how was it? My school says I either go by myself and pay 500B or an agent does it for 3000. What is the best option?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for obtaining a Thai Teacher's license has caused frustration among foreign teachers, with some questioning whether to handle the application themselves or hire an agent. The school offers two options: going to Bangkok by oneself for 500 Baht or hiring an agent for 3000 Baht. Comments suggest that if one earns less than 2500 Baht per day, it's advisable to acquire the license personally. Additionally, there is information about obtaining a temporary license, which can be done without any extra fee other than mailing the paperwork, lasting for two years with possible extensions.

I found out that you don't need to pay either. Getting a temporary license will only cost you money to post the paperwork to BKK. This temporary license will last you two years and can be extended another two times! Problem solved. If anyone needs more information as I'm researching this, PM me.

How much will it cost to go get it

Do the math... 1 + 1 = 2 or air-ticket to Bangkok and back or Bus Ticket to Bangkok and back versus the 3000 baht. It is a no brainer.

500B but I'll have to go to BKK myself (living in Phuket)

If you make less than 2500 per day go get it yourself.
