I recently heard that you can now only apply for the DTV from your home country. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not? Every other day there seems to be more and more confusion about this visa!

Yes, you now have to apply for the DTV from outside Thailand. You can’t switch or apply for it while you’re inside the country anymore. It’s a newer rule, so best to plan your application through a Thai embassy or consulate abroad.
