Hello lovely members!

I work and reside in Dubai (not a Dubai citizen though but born here and hold valid PR)

I've been reading quite a lot about the DTV and it's something I definitely want to go for as I want to travel more to Thailand in the short to medium term and I want to have it as my main base long term. (I've been to Thailand twice)

I pretty much know everything general about it based on all the other posts, reddit and info I could find from official sites and embassies.

I just wanted to hear if anyone from Dubai has applied through the Dubai embassy specifically? Anything to watch out for? The documents seem quite straightforward.

For context, Im married, currently reside and work in Dubai for a Dubai based company. But my work can be done completely remotely as an optional thing and I can get a letter from the company stating so, with no objection to me working remotely. 

I have all the other requirements (main one being the x amount of money in your bank account I believe).

If you've been with the company for awhile, and you show they are a legitimate business, and you've paid your income taxes, with their letter stating you can work remotely, with the cash in your personal bank account for at least 3 months, you should have no problems. Once you have yours, then your spouse can get a dtv based on yours, and of course any kids as dependents

Yes company is legit, proper business been in UAE for about 3 years and it's a proper permanent role I have with them for over a year now, not just on paper. All paperwork, cash, bank statement, in order.

I guess I should be fine then, thanks for the help!

For spouse, I'd assume it's best if she also shows separately the 500k baht in her account when she's applying after me?

She doesn't work so I was wondering if she could use my documents with a letter from me when applying. I can cover for both so 1m baht in account for at least 3 months.

And do savings accounts work? She can show this in her savings account (with a proper e-statement from legit bank in UAE)

Anonymous participant most every embassy allows a sponsorship letter from you for the spouses financial requirement, without an extra bt500,000. A few do though. What they do though, if you have kids, is want at least bt1million for the spouse plus the child, but if two children+, then it is hard to say, how much they want in your personal bank account to cover the sponsorship letters for each of them.

Search specifically for Dubai as there have been a few approvals and applications there fairly recently.
