I'd like to ask for information. My brother is a Norwegian citizen but intends to apply for a DTV visa in Denmark. The time it takes to deposit 500,000 baht into the account is only one month. My question is, do I have to be a Danish citizen or a resident of Denmark in order to apply for a DTV visa to enter Thailand?

Is this information correct? To apply for a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) to travel from Denmark to Thailand, you do not need to have Danish citizenship. You can apply for this visa if you meet certain criteria, such as being at least 20 years old, having sufficient funds to cover your fees and residence expenses, and having proof of employment with a registered company.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Norwegian citizen can apply for a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) to Thailand without being a Danish citizen or resident. Key requirements include being at least 20 years old, having sufficient funds (e.g., 500,000 baht), and proof of employment. The visa application can be processed at any Thai embassy, including the one in Denmark. Additional details such as the Thai Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) are necessary for any entry into Thailand.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Your questions are a little confusing - some information that might be helpful for you 1 - You only need a tourist visa to enter Thailand for a holiday - check the Thai goverment website for who can enter as a tourist Visa free. It is good for 60 days. 2 - A DTV Visa is something you apply for - it has a fee - it is offered in specific circumstances and documentation is as required by the Thai Government - again google Thai Government requirements for DTV Visa - if issued it is good for 5 years and multiple entries. 3rd - and what may be confusing you is the requirement to complete a TDAC - Thai Digitial Arrival Card - you do this online for any entry to Thailand - no matter if you are coming as a tourist or a Visa holder. So to sum - if you are coming as a tourist - depending on your passport you may not require any kind of visa - but do check - you do not say your nationality so no advice to give you - you can also check your country department of state who may have info. If you want to stay longer you should explore visa options - and no matter how you come, how long you want to stay, what visa you have or do not have you must complete the DTAC no earlier than 3 days before your arrival

What's your question a) Whether you can enter Thailand visa free using a Danish passport or b) whether you can apply at the Thai Embassy in Denmark without being a Danish citizen or resident? According to the embassy (see below) you need "proof of residence" if you want to apply for a visa from Denmark.

You can apply at any embassy as long as you met the requirements

@Bob *********
not any embassy, as some embassies only take applications from citizens or residents (excluding tourists), while other embassies, notably in South East Asia do take applications from everybody, including tourists.

residency still is a requirement so any embassy if you met requirements 😅

sure, that's technically correct, but it's better to make it more specific for first time new applicants. Some have lost their money because they "unknowingly" applied at countries where there weren't residents, and forgot that was also a requirement.
