Hi just wanting to know if I can cross a land border to get a 30 day visa on arrival? I’m from New Zealand and I’ve read in some places it has changed to only 15 days across land and 30 days via air. Any help greatly appreciated 😊

TLDR : Answer Summary
New Zealand passport holders can cross a land border into Thailand and receive a 30-day Visa Exempt Entry. However, they are limited to two 30-day Visa Exempt Entries by land in a calendar year. It is important to note the distinction between the Visa on Arrival, which is not applicable to New Zealanders in this context, and the Visa Exempt Entry, which allows for a longer stay.

and on that note we're done.

To recap kiwiz get 30 day visa exempt entries entering by air and land BUT are limited to TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)

@Nat****
you need to understand the difference between a 15 day visa-on-arrival which people from 21 countries BUY for 2000baht when they stamp into the country

AND

A 30 day visa exempt entry which people from 50+ countries get when they show up here and enter by air or land.

A New Zealand passport holder would get a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp entering by air or land BUT would be limited to TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a year.

NO, you can not buy a Visa on Arrival. But you can get a 30 day Visa Exempt Entry, this is the last announcement of Immigration:

Indeed, this question is asked every 3-4 days here (been generous, probably more).

After 22 months there should be no more confusion. I post this announcement almost 4 to 5 times a week.

before the change it was 15 days except for citizens of G7 countries who received 30. Hence the confusion today

Natalie Kay, it changed for better, before 2017 was 15 days.

Please read the announcement, yes it changed on 1 Jan 2017, 54 countries are legible to cross into Thailand by land border checkpoints without a Visa and get 30 days Visa Exempt Entry, but this entry is limited to twice a calendar year. On the list of countries you can find New Zealand.

I'm not a native English speaker but I can read: are legible to enter Thailand without a Visa through land border checkpoints.
