Good afternoon group. Can anyone confirm the current arrangements for a tourist visa on arrival? It was 30 days, then they increased it to 60 days but I read it was being abused & they were going to put it back to 30 days. But I didn’t hear anymore. I will be there December 28 for 35 days. I will leave Thailand during this time & return there at some point. I could of course buy a bus ticket across the border but only as a last resort. Thx.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The current information confirms that the visa exempt entry for many travelers in Thailand is 60 days, which has been in effect since July 2024. The visa on arrival, applicable to certain countries, provides a shorter 15-day stay. If visitors leave Thailand and return, they can obtain a new 60-day entry, allowing for repeated entries, though this approach should be used with caution.

Still 60 days nothing has changed

It's called VISA EXEMPT, it applies to 93 listed countries, the term is 60 days. If you leave the country it expires and you'll get a new one whenever you return. Theoretically you could continue doing that indefinitely, but I wouldn't chance it.

It’s still 60

Visa on arrival is 15 days for only certain countries. Many others get the "visa exempt/NO VISA" entry for 60 days.

Visa on arrival is where you apply for and pay for a 15 day visa at the airport. You do not even qualify for that, so I assume that's not what you're asking about.

You're likely asking about visa exempt, which isn't any visa at all. It means you're exempt from needing a visa and will receive a 60 day free entry stamp.

It's currently 60 days and has been since July 2024. No one can tell you what the future holds, but it doesn't matter that much as you could just apply for a tourist visa online if you need 60 days, or apply for a 30 day extension at the immigration office.
