Asking for a friend in Australia.

He;s retiring in early Sep 22 and will be applying for the STV. Can he still renew it 2 times, even though it (currently) expries on the 30th Sep 22.

When he is ready, can he apply for an Non-O based on being over 50 and is retired, inside Thailand or does he have to do a order run.

The Special Tourist Visa program was continued for another year. You cannot apply for any visa inside thailand from an STV 😕

To be completely honest you're asking WAY too early to know what will be what that far in advance. 😮

Have him pay attention to the news about thailand, visas, borders opening this coming year and make a decision closer to when he's gonna be coming here.
