Well what an interesting process..

I’m applying for Non O retirement visa through an agent.

Have bank acct with 800k

TM30 with one year lease.

I took photos as required then had to download Line and do a video call showing, my room etc and they want to see the power meter with me beside it.

Luckily the office girl explained that the owner is the person the meter is registered too.

Didn’t know a video call had to be done, that’s news.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process of applying for a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand can involve unique requirements, such as a video call to demonstrate living conditions, which includes showing a power meter alongside the applicant. This user shared their experience of applying through an agent, having the necessary bank requirements, and completing documentation like the TM30 form. Community comments discuss the complexities of using an agent and suggest visiting the immigration office directly for a clearer understanding of what is required.

Remember TM30 changes if you stay anywhere else, if the hotel / landlord do what they are supposed to do.

Great questions from the group.

I have been in Bangkok 10 days. I am thinking I can take a day to visit the immigration office and ask them what I need then return with what ever I am missing.

I am retired, I have more time than money. (Not that I am broke), but it seems another way for me to learn about the culture.

And you get a good feeling after having done it yourself not to mention the extra 10,000 in your pocket

@Tony ******
you may have a reason for staying home to take a video call, your choice.

My comment was why have a video appointment when I can go in-person and interact with more people?

My choice is to get to out and learn more.

Well I did go to immigration and they instigated the video call not the agent. It was new to the agent as well, that’s why I wondered “is this something new”

I don't even know where the meter is located. At least the electric bill is in my name though
