TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for formal attire in marriage visa photos can vary by immigration office in Thailand. While some visitors have successfully used jeans and polo shirts, others faced rejection for wearing shorts or informal clothing. Many commenters suggested opting for long pants and avoiding shorts or singlets to ensure acceptance. It's recommended to check specific local requirements or experiences at your nearest immigration office.

My photos are rejected one year, because we had the same clothes on for all the photos.

Now we both change our shirts every two photos 🥱

Yes - same for me. I don’t understand the need for evidence to show we own multiple outfits. What a joke…

We were asked photos on the bed, so we added a picture of us standing on the bed. The lady didn’t appreciate the joke. 🤣

We had added all the required pictures including us sitting on the bed, so she removed the joke and accepted the other pictures.

I was rejected in Siracha immigration for looking ‘too relaxed’ on the bed, we were laid back slightly with elbows resting on the bed. 2 hour round trip to take a new photo. 🤦🏻‍♂️

They tend to use such tactics to discourage marriage visa. Retirement is much smoother. After last year’s experience I decided to change this year.

Did mine yesterday. One hour in and out, even when the lady was a bit grumpy…

Yes. Just no singlets and/ or shorts for both of you. Same when you visit immigration or any government office 👍🏻

I've been in government offices and immigrations dozens of times in a t-shirt and shorts. No problems.

I wouldn't say formal. My yearly ones are im in a polo and shorts. Wife wears like elephant pants and some long covering shirt. No issues. But all immigration offices are different

Was rejected at Jomtien as my wife wore knee length sorts and a sleeved T-shirt. Wearing elephant long pants solved the issue.
