I am considering a hypothetical scenario: getting a Non-O visa in Laos to stay in Thailand for 90 days as a tourist and open a Thai bank account. Then, getting a real Non-O (or even a Non-OA) visa next year for long-term stay. Could the first Non-O visa cause problems when getting another one later in the year? Do banks periodically check on your eligibility? When might banks close your accounts? I would appreciate your input on using a 90-day Non-O tourist-style entry and using it as a valid reason to open a Thai bank account.
