DTV – can the 500,000 THB come from a loan + family gift?
Part of my funds would be a private loan from a friend (no fixed repayment date) and the rest a gift from my parent.
Has anyone applied this way?
Answer summary
The requirement for the Thai DTV visa stipulates that applicants must show 500,000 THB in their bank account. Many users in the comments suggest that the source of the funds does not matter as long as the money is in the applicant's account for 3-6 months before applying. It is advised to avoid large deposits shortly before application, as it may raise concerns. Loans and gifts can be used as long as the funds are properly seasoned and documented if needed.

So you cannot come up with the money by yourself? Thailand welcomes you 😃
Unless you are applying for workcation, assuming you are allowed to work remotely in Thailand for a foreign company, (you will need a letter from the company proving they approve your remote working in Thailand, and evidence of salary) don’t bother to apply. Obviously you don’t have funds to support yourself once you get to Thailand. You can’t get a job in Thailand with DTV. You can come unstuck very quickly.
Yes, can come from anywhere just make sure you keep it in your bank account for at least 3 months before you apply for the visa. Immigration might ask you also to show proof of funds each time you enter Thailand.
It’s gotta show in your account for 3-6 months (do 6 to be safe).
Also it could be a red flag seeing a big lump sum go in all at once rather than overtime. (Overtime communicates self sufficiency/ potential to find ways to make & safe money adding to the economy instead just taking up space)
SageCaterpillar5223 finding a post by you an hour ago, showing the funding requirement of 500K seasoned in a bank account in your name is completely different from salary/income payslips as shown in your bank statement etc
