Can I Travel With My Expiring Passport and a New Passport While Retaining My Valid Non-Imm O Visa?

Last week, the 26 June, I received my Non – Imm O at CW. Because my passport expires March 2021 it, the visa, is only valid until then.

My question is, at the time I renew my passport, which may be 2-3 months before it expires, am I still able to exit the country either on my present passport or by both, and return using both passports and my visa still being valid? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is unsure about traveling with an expiring passport and the process of renewing their passport while holding a Non-Imm O visa. They seek clarification on whether they can exit Thailand with both their old and new passport while keeping their visa valid.

As soon as you get a new passport you need to take the old one the new one and the letter from your consulate stating you got a new passport inside thailand to the immigration office and get your extension of stay stamp moved to the new passport

You CANNOT show both passports to travel out of the country as you need to move the extension stamp to the new passport FIRST before you leave once you get the new passport

Whether you can leave and come back totally depends on YOUR country and the way they handle passport renewals

UK passports are invalid the second you apply for a new one and you can't use them for anything but domestic travel

US passports are (OR were) valid until you went to the ACS office and picked up your new passport and they stamped holes in the old one and you could travel internationally on it BUT now seeing as they do passport renewals by mail you don't have ANY passport until you get them both back in the mail (so you can't travel outside the country)

Do you have a visa or an extension of stay based on marriage/retirement?
