Can anyone advise if there are any visas available that allow purchase of a car, outright or in instalments?

Currently on non immigrant O spouse visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can buy a car in Thailand with a non-immigrant O spouse visa. While a work permit is not necessary, foreign car loans typically require a Thai co-signer or a substantial deposit, along with proof of income. If paying in cash, obtaining a Certificate of Residence from immigration is recommended.

Most banks that offer a foreigner car loan want a Thai co-signer. To simply buy for cash get a Certificate of Residence from. Immigration

WP not needed, but a large deposit and either a verifiable revenue stream or a co-signer will likely be needed.

All visa's as long as you pay cash.

The Ford finance offered was expensive. 7% pa over 5 years.

I guess that would be a very expensive option.

Ford's and Toyota offered me finance without a work permit but wanted a 50% deposit. I do own my own place though. I never needed it so never bothered persuing it.

righto, that’s the info I was after. So to pay off in instalments you need a work permit? So I guess that means forming a company with my 3 kids.

Thanks. I’ll do a bit more research online.

If you pay cash, that means pay the full price in cash money. No car loans for foreigners unless you have a Work Permit.

cheers. So if I meet the income requirements I should be able to pay off a car over a 5 year period on any visa?
Robert *******
The only thing you can not buy in your name as foreigner is land, the rest is no problem.

Cheers, I was always led to believe foreigners couldn’t buy cars? Or have them in their name?
