Has anyone switched from Non-B work visa to a DTV?
Answer summary
Yes, individuals have successfully switched from a Non-B work visa to a DTV in Thailand. The process generally requires the cancellation of the Non-B visa and work permit before applying for a DTV. Experiences shared by users highlight variations in procedures, especially relating to the timing of the application and the necessity of showing financial stability in a Thai bank account.

I did this but fairly early just a few months after DTV was released. They might have different processes now but they granted me the dtv based on working outside Thailand
As far as I remember my business visa was active but my work permit already expired by a few days and the company was already issued for closure
When I came back I essentially had two active visas. So I had a short back and forth with immigration.
They didn't know what to do at first, so they wanted to talk to my accountant
I talked with them in Thai and they just weren't sure what to do so they had to call a higher up. In the end they cancelled the work permit on the spot and also made a note inside there saying its cancelled. Then I stamped in with the dtv
Yes, I did 8 years on Non-B then switched to DTV after cancellation of WP and Non-B extension. I showed money in Thai bank account earned from Thai salary and final settlement
There have been a few posts about it. Cancel the B visa. Leave and apply for DTV. Same process for most visa switches. The original has to be cancelled first. For example going from O to B the O has to be cancelled before applying for B
