Can I successfully reapply for a DTV visa after a job change and previous rejection?

Dec 13, 2025
I was rejected for the DTV in Ho Chi Minh back in October, and I plan to reapply from Indonesia in January.

Since the rejection, I’ve changed jobs and my income has changed. I’m worried that if the embassies share data, the difference in my income statement might look suspicious.

Has anyone successfully reapplied with a new job or different financial documents? I’d appreciate any advice on how to handle this!

The post discusses concerns about reapplying for a Thai DTV visa after a previous rejection while having experienced a job change and altered income. It asks for advice on whether this scenario might raise suspicions with the embassy and if others have successfully navigated similar changes in their financial or employment circumstances during a reapplication.

I read if you are rejected the chances of a new application being successful are very low

Doubt they are intentionally lying but there is substantial evidence to show applying after a rejection does not mean a low chance of approval. Some Embassies even tell failed applicants to apply again.

It is all in one repository so all these embassies see that you have applied before. Shows all thai visa you have or had.

Hey don’t worry I applied from Taipei and was denied and then applied again 3 months later with more matured contract in Vietnam and it was fine.

The issue Taipei had was that I hadn’t been paid consistently on my new contract but once I had it was fine. Also I used Issa Compass to apply. It’s like $160 extra but they’ll reapply or refund you the FULL amount if you don’t get the DTV which for me was worth it. It’s like agent-light in a way. Best of luck🙏

I actually started my new job on October 1st, just before my application was denied on October 4th. I suspect the issue was my previous income level. Even though my documents were authentic during that first attempt, they requested two additional documents that are rarely asked for. Since they were already strict, I’m worried that reapplying in three months with completely different employment info will look inconsistent. I’m concerned they might question the validity of this new history.

Anonymous participant your wording is very vague, what rare documents did they ask for, what completely different employment info are you supplying, what are the work differences between the initial application and your proposed application, what Embassy are you applying through and what passport do you hold?

Anonymous participant Are you worried because you made up the details OR do you really think getting a better paid job is not allowed before you visit Thailand?
