I live in Chiang Mai but I am in Koh Samui now. I need to make the 90 notification by today March 3. I know I have between 15 days and 7 days prior to March 3 to notify by on line or by registered mail. On line system has been down. Too late now to mail. Must notify in person and have 7 days after March 3. I go to immigration and I am told since I made my last 90 notification in Chiang Mai, I must return to Chiang Mai to make notification in person!!!

The rules say I can make my 90 day notification at any immigration office. Immigration office refuses my notification.

Anyone have a solution?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is facing issues submitting their 90-day notification while traveling in Koh Samui, as they were informed by immigration that they must return to Chiang Mai to complete the process. They believe the rules allow for notification at any immigration office. Suggestions from the community include sending their passport with a TM47 form to a trusted person in Chiang Mai, paying a late fine as a more convenient option, and ensuring that address changes are properly registered at the local immigration office.

Another option would be to send your passport and a filled out TM47 report form EMS up to someone IN Chiang Mai that you trust and have them go file a 90 day report for you.

Thanx

for mentioning that to me in messenger.

Thanks for the comments. I keep trying to convince myself that bureaucratic rules should make common sense. I should know better.

pay the fine ,less hassle and cheaper than heading to cm

sure seems to be the easiest option and seeing as the fine is 2000baht whether you're 8 days late or 8 months late I'd go with that choice too :)

You do the report at the office that covers your tm30 address

no the rules do NOT say you can do your 90 day report at any immigration office, they actually state you do your 90 day report at the office where you got your extension, where you have filed previous 90 day reports AND at the office where your primary address is located in :/

You don't have any choice, You got until the 10th to file a report in Chiang Mai OR you just suck it up, and when you get back you go file a 90 day report late and take the 2000 baht fine. Face it you're not the only foreigner who filed a 90 day report late in the country :) it's not a big deal

hi, but if I change my primary address after I did my extension, for example did extension in chiangrai, but then moved to korat, korat immigration would be the place to do the next 90 day report, right?

@Ulli *******
as long as where ever you move TO you follow that immigration office's rules on how to change an address; some require both a TM30 and a TM28 (change of address form) some just the TM30.

So if you moved to Korat (and followed their process to change your address) yes you'd report there from then on and you'd get your next extension there.

Just so you know your situation is not the same as "I'm on vacation in another province and my 90 day report is due" ;)
