Can I still apply for a 60-day extension in Muang Thong Thani if I was denied at Nakhon Pathom immigration?

At Nakhon Pathom immigration.

Was turned away for 60 day extension.

Is Muang Thong Thani still able to do them?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user was denied a 60-day extension at Nakhon Pathom immigration and sought advice on whether they could apply for the same extension at Muang Thong Thani. The conversation reveals concerns over visa regulations, particularly regarding the eligibility for extensions based on entry type (tourist visa vs. visa exemption) and previous extensions.

Was turned away this morning in Samut Prakarn. Im on visa exemption, but have been on covid extension since april 2020. I guess they dont like that

i had no idea that easy/hard offices were a thing. Aren't they all following the same guideline? I've always been able to get covid extensions from Samut prakarn imigration until today..

I read in a German Thailand related magazine 2 weeks ago that the 60.days Covid19 extension can only be applied for by people who entered with tourist visa, not by people who entered by exempt entry. I read the contrary HERE in this group all the time since, and have been wondering for the past weeks. So obvioulsy what I read about the visa-exempt not able to apply for "unable to fly home extension" seems to be true

thanks for the clarification. So that magazine was wrong. They might have confused the visa-exempt with the 15 days visa on arrival, whose holders indeed cannot apply for the Covid19 extensions

@Nongnuch *******
correct. VOA cannot get the COVID extension.

and what was the reason you were denied the extension

What was the last visa/extension you were on BEFORE you switched to covid extensions and when did you enter the country originally?

I came in on visa exemption on Jan 11th 2022, extended until March 11. Came in today for 60 day extension. They said they can't do it.

@Ariel ******
you’re extended to March 11 already did you say? Aren’t you a bit early for going for a further extension then?

I asked another person working there, they said they can but they need to see an outgoing flight ticket. The first person immediately said no without checking documents.

@Ar***
I mean… if you still have almost a month to go on your existing extension why would you be looking for a further extension? You’re currently good until March 11

Im planning to rent a place for another month and get a 1 month gym extension, so it doesnt make sense if im only staying 20 days. But mostly because i was trying to prevent multiple trips to immigration, but anyways i couldn't a residence certificate so today just failed. Im thinking about buying a flight now, and printing it out but i figured i would try muang thong thani first since i can risk losing flight.

strange indeed, with that entry history and the fact you got the regular 30 day extension already you do qualify to apply for a 60 day covid extension 😕

You could try another office and this time I'd have proof of onward travel (that you're flying out within 60 days from the date your current stamp expires)
