I am currently a US passport holder in Thailand I arrived on a 90 day type O. Visa, I am wondering, can I extend that while I am in Thailand or do I have to leave and come back in to get 60 more days? It is single entry visa.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US passport holder in Thailand with a 90-day Type O visa cannot extend the visa while in the country, except in specific circumstances (such as being married to a Thai or having a Thai child). The only option is to leave Thailand and re-enter for a new 60-day visa exemption, or apply for a one-year extension under specific conditions.
90 DAY REPORTING RESOURCES / SERVICES
Use the trusted Thailand 90 Day Reporting Service to get your in-person report done and mailed to you for as low as 375 THB (even if the online system doesn't work for you).
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
The only extension available is the one year extension of stay, unless you’re married to a Thai or have a Thai child and can apply for the 60 days extension visiting Thai family.
You’ll need to leave and re-enter on a new 60 days visa exemption if you don’t want to apply for an extension.
