Hello šŸ‘‹

Does anyone have experience with DTV sponsorship for his/her unmarried partner?

I hold a DTV visa issued in an European country, and I would like to sponsorship my Indonesian partner. I’m wondering if I should do it in the country which issued my visa, country of origin of my partner or maybe other country that might be more helpful - like Manila for example.

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the possibility of sponsoring an unmarried partner under a DTV visa. Responses clarify that sponsorship typically applies only to legal dependents such as spouses or children, and that a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship does not have a legal basis for sponsorship. It is suggested that the partner should consider applying herself, particularly if she does not have a remote job.

Sponsorship applies only to legal dependants like children or spouse (married couple). A boyfriend/girlfriend relationship will not be recognized as it has NO legal basis.

Sponsorship is primarily for a spouse and for kids. She will probably do better applying herself via soft power option if she does not have a remote work job.
