TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among commentators is that individuals holding a DTV (Digital Tourist Visa) cannot open a bank account in Thailand. The DTV is primarily for tourists and not intended for residency, which limits banking options. Comments emphasize that a tourist visa does not provide the necessary basis for opening a bank account, as it is not recognized as a residency visa.
The Pheu Thai government does not want tourists to bring money to the country. They might be planning to alienate the tourists, ruin the economy and make the people revolt against the king 🤣 Jokes aside, they started to question even the money coming in. They are trying to tax it. I don't understand what their problem is.
If you master Thailand s code it won’t be a problem. People here get rejected because they go in the wrong banks with tourist clothes and a western mindset
