Hello, I applied for Non-O visa in USA but it was not approved until 1 day after I arrived. I know I need to re-enter country to activate the visa but I would like to open a bank account first to start the aging of 800k deposit. Any chance of opening a bank account in Chiang Mai without visa? I have copy of approved visa, thai phone number, and residency certificate. Anyone know of a bank which would allow me to open account? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the possibility of opening a bank account in Chiang Mai before activating their Non-O visa, which they had applied for in the USA but was not approved until after their arrival in Thailand. Despite having an approved visa copy, a Thai phone number, and a residency certificate, they were advised by community members that it is unlikely to open a bank account without the visa being active, and they would need to re-enter the country to get their passport stamped to activate it.
