Can I open a Thai bank account with a Non-Immigrant ED visa?

I’m studying Thai language in Thailand and currently have a Non-Immigrant ED visa.
Has anyone recently been able to open a Thai bank account with a Thai language ED visa?
Which bank and branch did you use, and what documents were required?
Any recent experiences or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Not allow for ED visa from language school,but allow for ED from University (Bank's staff said)

มะลิ พิม Owell, you need to do the visa extension or apply a new visa for 1 year. Then I believe the banks will allow you to open the account with the required documents.

An ED visa might allow you to open a bank account, it might not. But to do so you will definitely need a residence certificate from your local immigration office and should also have a Thai SIM registered against your passport

that's why I said might, they may not if you are only attending a school on a 90 day ED with 90 day extensions. All you can do is try different banks or even different branches of the same bank and askมะลิ *****
