Success with opening bank account with Bangkok Bank, Airport Plaza, Chiang Mai today. After doing the rounds of various banks and been asked for a combination of documents such as Residence Certificate, Lease Agreement, Identity Card or Drivers Licence. from own Country, Thai Drivers Licence, Certain type of visa - Non O but not Tourist/ or Retirement. This branch of Bangkok Bank settled for Residence Certificate, Identity Card from own country, printout of Visa (non O). Passport of course.

Congratulations. Yeah, the banks in Thailand are a pain in the ass like every branch, every Immigration Office and every local Amphur has their own additional rules.
