I have banked with them with no problem for only 20 years. I would recommend them adding use the branch closest to where you live or the the one you think would be most convenient.
And if you run into any problems due to their inexperience with expats, send an email to Bangkok Bank corporate in Bangkok explaining in detail what you are trying to do and the name and address of the branch that doesn't seem to understand what to do. I have done that several times over the years helping other expats open accounts, set up direct deposit from the U.S., etc.

Avoid bangkok bank and hope the bank reads another negative post about there chappy bank. A bank so proud to be hated by everyone these day.
