What a paradox, I can't get insurance due to age and pre existing medical history. Yet I pay VAT and Income Tax to the Thai Govt. Also donations and falang tax.
I have the same problem with heart failure and a blood condition that’s classed as a cancer but isn’t a cancer my wife says if I get to ill she will throw me out of the truck and hope the person that hits me has insurance
As soon as you hit 60 you're a liability, get to 65 and nobody will insure you... Full stop. Mention pre-existing conditions and you just realised you're wasting your valuable time even looking for quotes. Insurance companies don't even want the slightest possiblity of you making a claim.
Sadly over here you have to wing it, and pray that if ever you do get sick, real sick, that you DIE in your sleep before ALL your saved money goes on hospital bills.
Sadly that's what's in store for ALL pensioners retiring over here.
Unfortunately there is no happy ending getting older in Thailand. Unless you find a really good wife that WILL look after you in old age.
Good luck everyone.
There is One saving grace. Government Hospitals are very good and relatively inexpensive. 🙏🙏🙏
Ray Taylor I actually got insured here with AIA when I was over 60! Since then have had some fairly large claims including over 600kTHB for radiotherapy for prostate cancer!
