Just for information if you are planning getting a re-entry permit for your visa at Chiang Mai Airport its not open 24 hours and literally nobody here has heard of a re-entry permit anyway. There office that issues it is working Government hours not 24 hours as was mentioned on another post here.

Answer summary

This discussion highlights the current situation regarding obtaining a re-entry permit at Chiang Mai Airport. The airport does not issue re-entry permits outside of government operating hours, and recent comments indicate that there are no international flights operating from Chiang Mai at the moment. Consequently, it is suggested to obtain a re-entry permit in Bangkok instead, as Chiang Mai Airport may not provide this service currently due to lack of international travel.

Re entry is closed at CM currently as no international flights depart, they tell you to get it at Bangkok. Happened to the Mrs 3days ago

I've just got it here at BKK. The desk is in the immigration hall at the bottom of the escalators in the corner. No queue but can imagine it's bust once passenger numbers increase

Thank you. Yes I'm very lucky he's a smashing lad. He wanted to travel to but not realistic with quarantine at both ends.

This was posted on a website But again to get to passport control you'd have to check in for a flight.

they are directly after international security check on the left, before passport control.

But as mentioned above, currently no international arrivals / departures at CNX, so not accessible / needed.

The good thing is that the immigration office is NEXT DOOR to the airport so if it's from 8:30 - 4:30 M-F you can go there

which while anecdotally interesting doesn't answer my question ARE there international flights out of CMX airport now? If the answer is no, then you wouldn't be able to buy a re-entry permit :/

yes it's perfectly logical.

then it stands to reason they wouldn't sell re-entry permits at the airport anymore because you only need one of those flying out internationally and BOTH Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang DO sell them
