Will a 6 month gap in flights affect my Non O retirement e-Visa application in Thailand?

I have return flights booked from Australia to Chiang Mai from October 2024 to March 2025, just short of 6 months. I will apply for a Non O retirement e-Visa in Australia and intend to apply for 1 year extension based on retirement once in Thailand. I will get a re-entry permit when i return to Australia to maintain the visa and hope to keep repeating this process. Will the 6 month gap in flights be a problem? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on whether having a 6-month gap in flights from Australia to Chiang Mai will impact their application for a Non O retirement e-Visa. Community responses indicate that this gap should not pose any issues, provided that the user follows the recommended application process, including applying for a 90-day Non O visa and subsequently a 1-year extension based on retirement once in Thailand.

Nope shouldn't have any issue with that game plan at all

Apply for the single entry 90 day Non-O visa before you come

get stamped in for 90 days

when you have 45 days or less left on that stamp and you meet the proof of funds apply for the year extension and re-entry permit

leave

as long as you come back BEFORE the year extension expires, you'll be able to apply for another year extension once you're back here at the immigration office where you live

Sorry to say I am confused…

I have exactly the same situation coming from US.

I had the understanding that I would apply for the Non-O while in Thailand. This member says he will apply for Non-O in his home country. Will he do this before he arrives on his 6 month MEV?

TIA for the clarification

, OP wouldn't apply for METV at all. He will apply for Non-O retirement in his country before he flies to Thailand, and enters on Non-O to be stamped for 90 days. He is planning to apply for a 1-year extension at the end of the 90-day entry stamp.

After into about three months on his 1-year extension based on retirement, he gets a re-entry permit to fly back to his country while keeping his 1-year extension valid.
