The education visa.. the unofficial age cut off? has anyone been getting an Eds visa over that unofficial cut off age...asking 69er here
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around the unofficial age cut-off for obtaining an education visa (ED visa) in Thailand. Comments indicate that while there is no formal age limit for applying from outside Thailand, there may be informal restrictions imposed by schools and local immigration offices within Thailand. Some users mention successfully obtaining an ED visa at ages 67 and 69, while others suggest considering a retirement visa as a simpler alternative, which allows for studying as well.

Are you asking about getting a visa inside or outside of Thailand?

Outside of Thailand, there won't be any limit. The embassy will process an education visa application for anyone, as there is no official age cut off.

Inside of Thailand, talk to your school. They will know the procedures of the local immigration office that will be processing the application. They are the ones who decide what they will and will not approve.

thank you, I am in laos Vientiane and just now received my tourist visa, when back in Thailand I will talk to a few schools...I don't qualify for the retirement visa and I like to learn the language and culture aspect of the education visa than say a cooking school or fight club...visa

I am prepared to return to the Thai Embassy here in Vientiane and apply accordingly...thank for your positive reply Brandon...

If you're 69 why would you not just get a retirement visa, so much less hassle. You can still study on it if you wish
