Planning first trip to Nong Kai then across the land border to Laos. I'm on Non O.

(1) If I want a multiple reentry permit, can I get it at the border checkpoint itself ( I have seen one report here - yes for single reentry permit - my question is about multiple reentry permit ). Or should I get it at the Nong Khai immigration office? Or in your experience better to get it locally like BKK?

(2) Not Thai Visa related but... best way to get Lao visa - eVisa (pls recommend website) or just walk up with required documentation at border is smarter?

Much appreciate answers to either question and thank you...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about obtaining a multiple reentry permit while traveling from Nong Khai to Laos on a Non-O visa, specifically asking if this can be done at the border or if it’s better to acquire it at the immigration office in Nong Khai or somewhere else like Bangkok. Additionally, the author seeks advice on acquiring a Lao visa, questioning the efficiency of using an eVisa compared to applying in person at the border.

you can get a re entry at any immigration office or any international airport>

NOT at land border immigrations

just rock up and pay $40 on arrival, simple and easy

Most borders have immigration offices nearby though. For Mukdahan, its right at the border.

looks like Nong Kai has one also. Another option for me. The trip to CW is a minimum half day or more.

It's best to get the re-entry permit at the office that issued your extension.

If you get the Laos evisa it'll be faster for you and it will take less space in your passport.
