Hello to everyone here,

Does someone any experiences with The pension certificate from the German embassy in Bangkok? My pension will start from July 2024 .

I have the 90 days non immigration O visa and will start the process of extension to a one year retirement visa in Thailand.

I will arrive in Bangkok on 4th of May.

My question is:

Am I eligible to get the 1 year visa with my pension starting in July?

Or should I put 800 000 Baht just from very beginning on a Thai bank account which I will open on my first days there and wait 2 monts and then go to immigration office and apply for the 1 year Visa?

I actually wanted to use the combination method for my financial evidence , my pension+ the rest of 800 000 Baht on the account= together 800 000 Baht .

I would be very happy to get your advice . I think German speaking members of this forum may help me more.

Thank you in advance

Good luck with opening a bank account in your first days in Thailand.

That’s very optimistic, since most banks would not ever consider to let your opan a bank account, at least until after staying minimum 3 months, and you can get a residens certificat from the Immigration.

I already explained ALLES to you

You can get the pension certificate from Consul Hofer, for example, if you are near Pattaya (on North Pattaya Road, in the Pattaya Garden Resort area). Phone:

2634, cost: approx. 1300 baht. If your documents are correct, you can get the certificate immediately

do I need an appointment or I can go without any?

I will be in Chantaburi. It is a 4 hours ride on bus.

You don't need an appointment, but it's better to call his office first, because he is not in the office every day. The office time is from 11am to 4pm from Monday to Thursday. Call his secretary. When you have to apply for a 1 year extension of stay, your income certificate from the consul should not be older than 1 month.

Is the income affadavit only issued if there a 3 monthly payments or more because, if so, you cannot use it for this first extension?

You must show a document about your income in year 2023, nothing more. I do it every year.

my pension will start in July 2024.

Then I think no need to go to the embassy. I have to do the option with 800 000 Baht on a Thai account.

@Deniz ********
yes you’ll need 800k in a Thai bank (foreign transfer) because your embassy won’t issue the income certificate until your pension starts
