Question: Does a Singapore passport holder entering Laos for a week's visit, need to fill out the evisa? It's open borders for ASEAN nationals but just wondering about this evisa form, if it needs to be filled up and submitted 3 days before entering Laos? Entering from Nong Khai by car.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Singapore passport holders can enter Laos visa-free for up to 30 days and do not need to fill out an eVisa. Travel from Thailand's Nong Khai by car is possible, but it's advisable to be aware that some forum members recommend checking specific Laos travel advice for accurate information.

I think even without an e-visa, u could still extend yr stay permit in Laos one time (however, I'm not 100% sure, as I don't know anyone who's a visa free national that has had to do this). Most Thais would simply cross the border into Thailand and come straight back to receive a fresh 30 day stay, which they can do an unlimited number of times.

Are u driving a Singaporean car over? I saw two Singapore registered cars in Vientiane recently. One in town, the other just entering the country from Nong Khai as I was leaving. It's a long drive, so u must have a lot of holidays! After all, it's at least 3 days to reach Vientiane from Singapore by car and that's 3 long driving days.

OK, though u mentioned u were going by car. Doesn't make a big difference, as the procedures are largely the same - u can use the car queues, even if yr a passenger in a car driven by someone else (such as a Thai friend).

NO. It's visa-free entry for 30 days if you're Singaporean.

Yes, that's what I thought too. But I filled up the evisa cos they said everyone entering the country must have the evisa. At the end of submission, I get charged with this! - USD $51.75! what??!! Fom this website

Oops. Wouldn't have been necessary in yr case.

Singaporeans can even get 30 days visa free entry to Myanmar by land, the ONLY ASEAN nationality to receive this privilege. All others get only 14 days or 30 days only if flying in (although this is largely a moot point everywhere except Kawthoung) as all other land borders are currently closed.

Anyway, just FYI. Your passport is one of the most useful and powerful in the world.
