ORIGINAL POSTER
I entered the country with dtv Feb 3d. Can I go out for a few days and come back on May 7 without doing the 90 days visit to immigration?

Between Feb 3 and may 7 there are 94 days.

I am thinking of leaving at the day 88-89 and coming back after a few days.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can leave Thailand for a few days and return after less than 90 consecutive days without needing to report your stay. The 90-day reporting requirement applies only if you remain in Thailand for 90 consecutive days. Upon re-entering the country, the 90-day count resets.

You must report if you stay in Thailand for 90 consecutive days. That said they are not going to check that you have reported when you leave.

When it’s time for your next 90 day report an eagle eyed officer may spot you didn’t report the last time and fine you.

Yes. 90 day report is only ever required when staying consecutively for more than 90 days within Thailand.

90-day is automatically reset whenever you re-enter the country.
