I am US citizen in BKK, entered as visa-exempt 29 days ago. I'm going to the Centrail Investigation Bureau temporary office as I believe thats the location I'm supposed to go for extending 30 additional days, normal 30 day extension, not the covid extension (which maybe ill have to do next month?) I should be able to follow the normal procedure for extending right without covid exemption?

Does this new temporary office have photo and copy facilities like the regular office has? Is it worth going there at 7:00am or even earlier tomorrow? Any suggestions for timing? I plan to have snacks and reading material as I know I could be there a while...

Anyone wanna share a taxi tomorrow morning from Prakanong area, or the end of the BTS line?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US citizen in Bangkok is seeking advice on extending their visa-exempt stay by an additional 30 days at the Central Investigation Bureau temporary office. They inquire about the normal procedure for extensions, facilities available at the new office, and the best time to arrive. Comments suggest arriving early due to a limited number of processing slots, confirm that copies from an embassy are not needed, and clarify that this forum is not for travel arrangements.

This isn't a travel advice group. I'm closing comments.

Hi, I'm in the same position with the 30 day visa-exempt arrival. It's confusing, but to your knowledge we don't need a certificate from our embassy to get the normal one-time 30 day extension?
Benjamin ******
That is correct, no letters needed from your embassy for an extension of stay based on being a tourist.

and you know you're going here right ??

they process no more than 1000 people and I heard once they hit that they close and send people away. You're looking at going to Muang Thong Thani right after a long weekend

We can't tell you what time you should show up, that's a decision you have to make BUT people were lining up at 5:00 am last week

From what I was told there are now copy machines there BUT I didn't see photos of them so if you can make your own copies DO it.

ok i see, thanks. That’s 5am anticipating 7am office hours? Or opening later? Since I don’t have in advance the forms they provide at the office, I can make copies of my passport ID and stamp page, and my exit card right?
