Can I get a residence certificate on the same day at the new immigration building in Chiang Mai?

Anyone got a residence certificate from the NEW immigration building in Chiang Mai yet? Promenada is no more. Went to new building at end of day yesterday & was told to come back at 8:30am. Will I get the cert same day? Or is it the standard come back tomorrow that it used to be?

correct, we have a policy where you can't mention in country agents or agencies that get visas or do stuff at the immigration offices for people.

UPDATE: it’s now possible to get residence certificate same day, pickup at 5:30pm. Charge is 1000 baht. The old service of picking up next day is still available, pickup at 5:30pm, charge is 500 baht. I presume the “free” one is still available if you want to wait 2 weeks, but I didn’t ask.

no problem. I needed my latest TM30 form (you can register/get that at the same office), 2 pictures and photocopies of my passport and current entry slip. You can do the photocopies and photos there at immigration. I just spoke with the people at counter number 1, it’s where I was directed by the people at the information counter. I believe the expedited service is available all day, they said they sign the certificates at 5pm. Ready for pickup starting at 5:30pm. Hope this helps 🙂

, can you give a few more details? What documents did you need to provide and who did you talk to about the expedited service? And did you need to go at a certain time of day? Thanks.

This is directly through the immigration office, at the new building back by Airport plaza.
