What are the requirements for a spouse dependent visa application in Ho Chi Minh, especially regarding employment plans?
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has ever been denied of a dependent visa (spouse) in Ho Chi Minh?
My husband has a DTV under Soft power (granted in Australia). I applied 10 days ago in HCMC, and today I received a request of additional documents.
-Proof of location: they requested photos in tourist spots, accommodation proof, and all my passport pages. I had already send evidence. But I’m sending again the requested. Easy.
-DTV of my husband and the original documents. I had already provided the visa details. But now I’m attaching all the school documents. Easy.
-Explanation regarding my employment.
“Are you currently working? If not, do you have any plans for the next 5 years in Thailand?”
This makes me nervious, I’m not currently working, and I wasn’t expecting having to explain my plans for the next 5 years.

Get your husband to write a letter saying he’s supporting you whilst in Thailand

Yes, it’s common. They want to make sure you won’t start working here and that you can sustain yourself while living here. 500,000 won’t cover you for 5 years.

It depends on the embassy but they may require you to prove that you can sustain yourself one way or another.

it is common now to be asked to give your plans for the duration of the DTV and how you will manage financially. Give a detailed answer to avoid being issued a 6 mth TV.
