Hi everyone, has anyone recently secured the DTV as a remote worker while in Vietnam? I’m from the U.S. but live in Bangkok and will leave for Vietnam next week to pursue the DTV. I have my offer letter stating that I’m a remote IT worker, my boss also wrote a letter to double down on that as well, I have $18k in savings that I’ve saved up the last 4 months or so. I also signed a lease on an apartment here in bangkok I plan to stay in Vietnam at least 2 weeks. Do you think it’s enough? I don’t have 6 months of statements amounting to $18k each month.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about obtaining a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) while in Vietnam, mentioning they are a remote IT worker from the U.S. living in Bangkok, with $18k in savings but lacking 6 months of bank statements. Comments from other users confirmed that they had successfully applied for the DTV without meeting the 6-month bank statement requirement, suggesting that having the total amount in savings and proper documentation (like offer letters) is sufficient. It's advised to prepare for potential follow-up requests for bank statements during the application process.
