Hi All. Quick question - Can you still get 30 day extensions if in Thailand on a 90 day single entry non o, or are only the long term marriage/retirement extensions the only option?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around the possibility of extending a 90-day single entry Non-O visa in Thailand. Users clarify that a 30-day extension is no longer available; however, a 60-day extension can be obtained under certain circumstances. Additionally, questions arise about the effect of leaving Thailand on the extension and the process for transitioning to a one-year marriage visa.

. I didn’t know about this option. I went today and got the 60 day extensions without issue. I’m now preparing for the next marriage visa extension. Can I ask 2 questions:

1) on this 60 day extension, does it cancel if I leave? If so can a re-entry permit be obtained?

2) On this extension, can I apply for the 1 year marriage visa, or do I need to leave or get a new 90 day non O first?

Thanks again

you can get the one year extension of stay as Married to Thai directly from the family visit 60 days extension.

If you leave Thailand...be sure to have a re-entry permit to use on return to Thailand.

However... DO YOU STILL HAVE... the required 400,000 Thai baht in a Thai bank account in your name only ?

To Apply for the one year extension of stay as Married to Thai requires the 400,000 to be in your Thai bank account for a FULL 2 MONTHS before you submit your application for the One year extension of stay as Married.

you need a reentry permit, it's an extension of whatever permission to stay you were on when you got the extension I believe.

It's an extension "to visit Thai family" as the reason not Thai wife as this is a marriage extension and could get rejected because the financial requirements are not met

IF you are legally married to a Thai, you are eligible to apply for the 60 days family visit.

Take your Thai wife along with your marriage certificate to the Thai Immigration office and apply for it.

Here's the common found requirements for the 60 day family visit extension of stay. Fee is 1,900 Thai baht.

Only one 60 days family visit extension is allowed per entry into Thailand.

Vin Burnett it's a key question. If MARRIED to a Thai, he's eligible for the 60 day family visit extension.
