Can you get a 60 extension on a non O via single entry based on being over 50 as opposed to one based on marriage, immigration has told me no and said I must leave before the amnesty ends in September.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of obtaining a 60-day extension on a Non-O visa due to being over 50 years old, rather than through marriage. Responses indicate that the extension is typically granted for visiting family members who are Thai nationals, regardless of the original visa entry type, and clarify that the user cannot apply for this extension based solely on age.

The 60 day extension is for visiting family (Thai spouse or Thai children). Doesnt matter what visa you came into the country on but must have a Thai family member.

You are not inside Thailand on a Single Entry Non Immigrant O visa, as you only got 90 days of stay. I guess you are using the amnesty,

You can apply for the Extension of Stay based on visiting spouse with Thai Nationality using any kind of entry,

Make sure you ask them about the 60 day extension of stay based on visiting family

My guess, the day you asked plus 60 days came to a date close to 26 September and the Immigration Officer just told you no, so you do not loose the one time opportunity to use this extension as you can stay until 26 Sep. Try again after 1 Aug with the new amnesty rules and where this Extension of Stay should start on 27 September and will bring you until 26 November

I went into immigration to make double sure I was a ok to stay until the amnesty ends and to complete a 90 day report if asked ,so I took the opportunity to ask about a future 90 extension.
