I have a question about getting finance for a motor bike in Thailand. I work remotely from Australia. I do not have work in Thailand. But I have a continual income. I'm on a non O spouse visa. Is it possible?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question is about financing a motorbike in Thailand while holding a non O spouse visa and having a remote income from Australia. Responses suggest that obtaining a loan may be challenging without a Thai work permit or local income. Options such as having a Thai guarantor, registering the vehicle under a spouse's name, or paying cash were recommended. There's also mention that cash discounts are rare, and some commenters advise negotiating with dealers.

Probably going to be difficult. It might work if someone acts as a guarantor for you (spouse?). But probably easier to put it in the spouses name in the first place. Or best of all solutions: Pay cash. Always best to pay for things to play around with (like motorcycles) with cash from savings. If you don't have any, maybe you could get a credit from your home country and then use that to buy the motorcycle. Just a few thoughts. Never tried to get financing in Thailand myself thus far.

Generally to get any kind of loan in Thailand, you have to have a work permit and a job/income from Thailand to back it.
True, yet ironic. Cause having a work permit / working in Thailand likely correlates to having a smaller (and potentially less secure) income than someone who works remotely for some western countries company. But banks in all countries are kind of national-focused in this respect, not only in Thailand.
