TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion focuses on the possibility of purchasing a motorbike in Thailand with a one-year Education (ED) visa. It highlights the importance of financial readiness, as cash payment is often required, and advises on understanding the visa rules and regulations related to vehicle ownership. Additionally, safety tips like wearing a helmet and having insurance are mentioned.
And so far the help about how to get a motorbike in my name. And on the side we explained and make sure he understand the rules of visa. Thank, drive safely, wear a helmet and get insurance.
Where did you get the 1 year Non Immigrant ED visa and based on which school? If you have money you can buy a motorbike, payment is cash, no money no motorbike.
yes I know I have to extend every 90 days & pay 5k thb and I have all my condo contracts & photos & are registered with TM30 at immagration. I think everything is sorted with the visa.
Ryan Manfre You need the Notification of Stay, or a Certificate of Address to get a motorbike in your name. If you do not live inside Thailand at an official address, they do not put it in your name.
Thanks, you understand you have to visit the Immigration Office every 90 days with some money and documents. Names are not that important as long as you understand the rules.
It's just a bill of sale, and copy of ID "not expired" if from a Thai. Passport and current visa stamp if from a foreignor. Tax is really easy as well.
And you are sure it is a 1 year Multiple Entry Visa? Or is the valid until date only 3 months from the issue date, nr of entries is S and the visa is stamped used on entry
