1. We have already extended our visa once in Thailand but would like to stay a bit longer.
We heard we could extend our visa for another week?
2. After Thailand we would cross into Laos. Any idea if we can get a visa on arrival in Chiang Khong in the north of Thailand?
Any help would be AMAZING!
Thank you โจ๐๐ผ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending their visa in Thailand for an additional week and whether they can obtain a visa on arrival in Laos while crossing through Chiang Khong. One response clarifies that a 7-day extension costs 1900 baht and is essentially an application for extension not approved, allowing them a week to exit Thailand. The response also seeks clarification about the intended travel route involving Laos.

1. just so you know that 7 day extension is an "application for extension not approved" and gives you a week from the day they issue it to get out of thailand and still costs 1900baht.
I'm not understanding your second question are you wanting to go to the border at Chiang Khong / Huay Xia bounce out of thailand in&out of Lao and come right back to thailand to get a visa exempt entry? OR are you leaving thailand and asking about getting in to Lao by buying a Visa on Arrival after you stamp out of thailand to continue your vacation
doesn't it cost more to get the evisa online for Lao? That Chiang Khong border is NOT jammed with foreigners trying to get in to Lao I don't think it'll take them long to get it issued when they stamp in.
another good thing is I think they don't put a full page sticker in your passport when you enter on a eVisa do they like they do when you buy the visa on arrival at the border or airport
ooh, one more question, if we spend 1 month in Laos, when we arrive back in Thailand via land, does that reset our visa so we would get 30 days free again and then are able to extend for another 30 days?
yep, you can enter thailand by land two times in a year and get a visa exempt entry. AND remember the 30 day entry changes to 45 days from Oct 1 to Mar 31 so if you enter during that time you'll get stamped in for 45 days not 30 and you can extend that one time for 30 days like usual
