Could I encounter issues when re-entering Thailand from Laos at Ubon Ratchathani?

Could there be any problem when I enter Ubon Ratchathani overland from Pakse? I was already in Thailand from the beginning of December until the end of February with a tourist visa (single entry) and then crossed over to Laos. I would like to re-enter Thailand around March 15th. Could there be any problems at this border? Will I get 45 days again? And can these be extended again by 30 days? And maybe even be extended again for 7 days? I've often read about this 7-day extension, but have no idea in which cases it is granted? My flight home is on June 4th from Bangkok to Frankfurt. I am German. Would be nice if someone could tell me something about this! Thanks in advance🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about potential issues when re-entering Thailand overland from Laos, after having spent time in Thailand on a tourist visa. They are specifically asking about the duration of stay upon re-entry, the possibility of extending their stay, and clarification regarding a commonly cited 7-day stamp, which is actually a 'denied extension' stamp. Responses indicate that re-entry is likely to be smooth and they should receive a 45-day Visa Exempt Entry, which can be extended by 30 days for a fee. However, the 7-day extension is not advisable due to its implications.

Forget the plan to get the 7-day "extension" because it's not an extension. It's an "extension denied - get out of the country within seven days". Trust me, it's not a good stamp to have in your passport. A buddy of mine was refused a visa to Russia on account of this stamp. He was considered a "visa risk"

Whether or not you will have problems entering is not predictable, mostly it's going to depend on your history inside Thailand but be sure to have the 3 proofs with you, if you enter ok you will be able to get the 30 day extension. There's no such thing as a 7 day extension, what you refer to is an extension denied stamp which gives you 7 days to leave the country

Hopefully I am correct in that you are referring to using the border crossing... at...

The Thai immigration and customs building at the Chong Mek border crossing.

You should be able to enter Thailand Visa EXEMPT ENTRY and get a 45 day Visa Exempt Entry stamp if you enter Thailand on or before March 31.

AND you can get a 30 day extension of stay at your local Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

As for your idea to Apply for another 30 day extension of stay and it being DENIED as it's not available to you.. That's 🚫 NOT a good idea to have a 7 Day Get Out of Thailand stamp in your passport.

Think about it...

Possibly stay in Laos a few more days to avoid the need to get the 7 Day Denied stamp in your passport.
