If I arrive in Phuket on a Visa Exemption in October from the USA can I extend the 30 day limit an additional 15 days?

OR must I work though the embassy here to get a 60 day TR visa?

I understand the 45 day Visa Exemption ends in September.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you arrive in Phuket on a Visa Exemption in October, it is currently expected that you will receive a 45-day stamp, which can be extended for an additional 30 days. The visa exemption is not ending in September as previously thought. However, it's recommended to verify the exact entry rules as they may change based on updated policies.

You should get 45 day stamp and you can extend that for 30 more

I think while you have quarantine you will have the 45 day visa exempt

We do not yet know if the visa exempt entry will be 45 days or 30 days in October. Watch news reports in late September

Visa exemption does not end in September. You may be confusing it with the end of the special tourist visa or the current 60 day covid extension. The 45 day visa exemption will still be available and the 30 extension on that will also still be available.

sorry you are not correct. The visa exempt entry is set to be reduced from 45 days to the usual 30 days October 1st.....unless extended.

yes, I realized I may have been incorrect in the duration of the visa exempt, but not that it will still be available. Just 30 days instead of 45, if that is not extended. Thank you for clarifying the current end date of the 45 days.

Thanks, I heard that the current visa exempt was 30+15 days and the +15 days expired September 1st. Of course I could be wrong, this stuff is confusing to me.

that could possibly be the case as I have not heard anything on that. The visa exempt was normally 30 days prior to covid, but extended to 45 days to account for the quarantine. The 30 day extension on top of that is still possible since that has been available for many years and has nothing to do with covid. You have to apply for that at immigration.

A TR or visa exempt entry is eligible for one extension of 30 days.
