Is it easy to extend your visa if you came into the country on a tourist visa exemption? Or is it better to get an Tourist Visa (TR) if you planning to stay longer in Thailand?

Thanks ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

TLDR : Answer Summary
The ease of extending a visa depends on the intended length of stay. A visa exemption allows for 45 days, extendable by an additional 30 days, while a Tourist Visa (TR) permits a 60-day stay, also extendable by 30 days. Thus, for longer stays, obtaining a Tourist Visa may be more beneficial.

Visa exemption gives you 45+30. Tourist visa 60+30.

Come in on a tourist visa, do your time in ASQ. Open a Thai bank account, fill it up with the required amount and switch to Non O in Thailand.

.provided he actually qualifies for a Non O visa/ext. Eg thai wife,Thai child, over 50, a job here, etc. Plus the finances needed in advance.

What if this expires? Is there a way to get another visa without leaving the country?

long term visas are extendable yearly. Eg retirement, spouse, work, family visas.

Tourist visas arent long term visas. Thats why they are called tourist visas.
