Can I extend my tourist visa before its expiration to obtain a motorcycle driver's license in Thailand?
With the tourist visa I'll get 60 days, then a 30 day ext. How soon can I extend? I need to show more than 60 days on my visa to get a Motorcycle DL🏍️. Does it work like that or do I need the STV that is already longer?
Answer summary
A tourist visa allows for an initial stay of 60 days, which can be extended for an additional 30 days. Extensions can generally be applied for when there are 30 days or less remaining on your current visa; some offices permit extensions up to 45 days in advance. It's important to note that there is no specific duration requirement related to the visa type for obtaining a motorcycle driver's license in Thailand. A resident certificate from immigration or an embassy may be needed, but the license can be acquired on any visa or visa exemption.

You can extend with 30 days remaining but that has nothing to do with getting a driving licence

Most offices will let you apply for extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp. Some offices allow for 45 days ahead of time though.

There is no requirement for remaining duration of visa to get a DL. At least not in Bangkok, as always in Thailand results may vary.
You will get to get a resident cert from immigration or embassy (most likely for tourist).
You reach out to services like fat boys to help you with the process for a fee.
