TLDR : Answer Summary
You can still apply for a motorbike license in Thailand even if your visa expires soon, although individual office rules may vary. You’ll need to get a certificate of residency and possibly a doctor's certificate. If you don't have a bike license from your home country, you'll need to undergo full tests, likely with the help of a local driving school. There might be a wait time for tests, but using a driving school can streamline the process.

I paid 310 Bht for both licenses. You need medical report and proof of address. No driving test, just perception and reaction tests. All done in 30 minutes.

If you do not have a motorcycle licence from your country go to a driving school like Mityon. The course can be done in 6 days and they do all the testing. Just take the paperwork to Land and Transfer office. Course is not expensive

You need the residency certificate. Takes 2 weeks to arrive by mail or go across the street from immigration to pay 1,000 baht to get it next day.

There’s a wait of 2+ months atm to do a test through DLT. I’m using services from a local driving school (1,000 baht for motorbike license & 5,000 for car) to do all the paperwork for me & conduct tests. No wait: Chiangmai driving school

You will need a certificate of residency from your local immigration, and a doctors certificate as well.

If you don't have a bike licence at home you may have to do full tests also book appointments

Generally not an issue when your visa/extension expires but the particular office you use may have their own rule on that.
