TLDR : Answer Summary
An individual on a 30-day visa exemption in Thailand can obtain a temporary driver's license, specifically a two-year license, by providing necessary documents such as proof of residence, a medical certificate, and a passport. If the individual has a motorcycle endorsement on their US license, they may not need to take the computerized or practical driving tests. Instead, they will only need to pass several aptitude tests. Additionally, an international driving license is another viable option for driving legally in Thailand.

Seeing as this is FAR fro a thai visa related question and the O/P has enough information to figure out what to do I'm shutting it down.

Sorry .;) (not really though :O ) .

IF you hold a license from your country you don't do the computerized test OR the driving test you just do 4 aptitude tests. (color blindness, peripheral vision, reaction time and depth perception.

PS There is a mini test on the net, realy not usefull but it has no value to get the DL.

the computer test you have to make also have "some mistakes".TIT .LOL

you have to go to konson office, make the checking, eyes, drive 100 meters backward, see few movies (in TH), all that in the morning. then afternoon if succeed you pay & get the license (first time 1 year and next 5 years)

BUT: as tourist many offices will not accept so you will need international DL for bike or car or both.

on roads the checking is rare so can take your luck BUT in case of accident you will have big problems...

international license will solve your problem, your enbassy can give you that if... you have a DL in your country.

There's no rule against getting a 2 year temporary license on a 30 day visa exempt entry. You'll need a proof of residence document (either from the thai immigration office or from the US consulate) a medical certificate and your passport..

If you have a motorcycle endorsement on your US license you don't take the computerized test or the practical driving test. If you don't hold a valid motorcycle license you do take 'em.

Sure you can. My friends did it just for fun when here for holiday so they could take home a nice souvenir from Thailand :-) But that was before you had to sit in class for 2 days though.
